This project is developed in partnership with the Matija Gubek School of Tavankut in Serbia, the Oxford England-Three School of Skopje in North Macedonia and the Marina de Cudeeyo School of Cantabria in Spain. The focus of this project is to develop, among young people aged between 11 and 15 (who attend the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education), the values of European citizenship. Innovative Academic Debates One of the innovative approaches of the project involves holding academic debates in the format of a Public Forum, where current topics such as social inclusion of minorities, human rights, democracy, human dignity, equity and freedom are debated. This methodology aims to instill a critical awareness in the young participants, promoting their argumentation skills and respect for diversity. Activities and Cultural Exchange The visit to Vila Franca de Xira was full of activities that allowed for a significant cultural exchange. Foreign students and teachers had the opportunity to participate in the presentation of projects at the Bom Sucesso Cultural Center, as well as a workshop called “Be a minister for a day”, followed by a Fado Night at the Sobralinho Palace. These cultural and educational activities contributed to an immersion in the rich Portuguese tradition.
